Meet The Other Pets: Part 3

Yesterday you met my brother's leopard gecko Thorn, so today meet my Betta fish, Scuba! You guys already know him, but he still deserves another introduction.

I adopted Scuba from Petsmart in February of 2017. He lives in a 2.5 gallon heated and filter tank...he has a great life! He only eats frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp (not that he'd turn down your typical fish pellet food) and he's quite the character! All fish are smart and have feelings, but Bettas especially fit that description. I'm going to try to teach Scuba basic tricks soon. He flaunts his fins whenever I enter the room, he knows when it's feeding time, and he always greets people who go up to admire him!

Rarely do Betta have ventral fins that are a different color than their body, but Scuba does! He has those beautiful red fins. Scuba is going through tail fin regrowth right now because his fins were torn likely because of a strong filter intake, but he's healing well with some water medication!

  1. That's a great picture! Very beautiful colors.
