Last Night...

...my mom finished the first draft of her novel!

It's short for a novel because it's her first, but she can't wait to edit for a second and third draft and then finally self-publish Dire Allegiance!

My mom obviously wants to dive right into the editing process, even though first drafts always make you cringe, but she thinks it will be better for her to take a break from the storyline for at least to week so when she starts editing it will all be fresh.

This was the finished word and page count last night!

Maybe by the end of summer my mom will even be done going through it and editing it, so stay tuned!

  7. Congratulations. Your mom is amazing! Our Lady still hasn't gotten around to writing a book yet.

  8. That's wonderful. You should be very proud of her. SO much goes into writing a book. If your Mom wants a non professional (but several times published) friend to give it a beta read, I'd be happy to. I had a couple friends do that with my second and third books and they found things the editors even missed.
