Super Bowl Sunday

So...today's the Super Bowl, eh?

My peeps don't care about football at all and probably haven't watched it since last year's Super Bowl. They mostly just watch it for the commercials and because it's a good excuse to eat hot dogs and chips, BOL. Honestly, we all know the main focus of the Super Bowl is the commercials! Because we live right near Atlanta, everywhere the peeps go there's something with the Atlanta Falcons on it. My humans, who don't know anything about football, didn't even know their team was going to the Super Bowl until a few days ago. My mom didn't even know what other team was competing until her friend told her at church this morning!

Football might be confusing, especially because it's pretty much humans playing fetch and fighting over the ball like us dogs do, but today will still be fun. I mean, today is the perfect day to sneak some yummy food from the humans and watch dog commercials! I think it's called the Super Bowl because it's the day for your peeps to fill up your bowl with super foodables, like cheeseburgers and french fries.

My mom says she'll enjoy the commercials, but she's saving her cheering (and maybe some ranting) for the Westminster Dog Show next week. She's glad that the first night of Westminster is on the 13th, the day after her 14th birthday!

What are you pups and kitties up to for Super Bowl Sunday? I'm busy fantasizing what it would be like if I was performing at the halftime show! Hopefully Frankie isn't fantasizing the same thing...just saying.

*to the tune of "You Don't Always Get What You Want"*

Pee. S. I'll be conducting a Blogville Think Tank event on February 27th! Here in Blogville, we're always looking for ways to improve our community. For citizens of Blogville to pawticipate, send in a picture of you with a thought bubble over your head reading something you want to change or want to happen in Blogville. Examples: "Blogville should open more spots in the administration suited for cats" or "There should be a 'Taste Tester' job in Blogville's administration". Of course those are just examples I made up, and your musing doesn't have to just about the administration, but I think you get the point. Send your pictures in to submissions@pawprovince.com! February 25th is the dead lion to join this year's Blogville Think Tank, so get your pics in as soon as you can!

  1. Ghostwriter has been trying to understand football rules all her life. She still can't figure it out. As far as she's concerned, it's guys in tight clothes running around and knocking each other down. But Dad likes to watch it anyway and has given up trying to explain the rules to her. Oh, I wonder if the Puppy Bowl will be on????

  2. Lady doesn't mind football (Canadian football is actually more exciting than American because of a few minor rule differences), but she loves the snacks, so she will watch some of it. It goes on past her bedtime, so she won't watch it all. We don't get the American commercials so that doesn't matter.

  3. You are right, the commercials are great. If I remember correctly, last year there was a Heinz ketchup commercial with a herd of dachshunds running across the land. I don't know if you saw it or not but it's on YouTube.

  4. WE are looking forward to the Think Tank Chris.

  5. My Mom and Dad gave away their TV. They watched so little it seemed a waste to pay for cable. But Mom has a HUGE computer screen in the office/den and they will watched boxed sets of her favorite shows or movies on there. There is going to be sloppy joe tater tot bake for dinner though. Yay!

  6. It's Monday here, the game is on in the background. We don't get the ads though. But they are often shown on Breakfast shows for a few days.

  7. Mimi had the TV disconnected during the American election! Now she gets her news on the internet and watches Netflix.

  8. What a crazy Snooperbowl! We're with you Christ and we're looking forward to Westminster!

  9. I have an idea for the think tank :O) We are a little sad today for the Falcons, but you're right we can cheer for the westminster show... maybe a weimaraner wins this time? or a dachshund? both breeds never became BIS... maybe this is our year?

  10. Love the Think Tank idea Christmas.
Here in the UK we don't know much about the Super Bowl. Six Nations Rugby was the big thing this weekend. Scotland beat Ireland (hooray!)
    Toodle pip!

  11. The think-tank sounds interesting! I agree that Westminster is WAY better than the silly peeps' Super Bowl. We watched the first half, but the ads were all super-boring, so we changed the channel!
