Christmas and I are here to induct Lexi into the Portrait Hall. Lexi was a very smart and very clever Schnauzer...almost as if she was human. Its rare that you meet dogs like that but she was very special.
Lexi was always happy and she brought much happiness to her family. She starred in plays in which she did an outstanding job. She loved blogging and she was a friend to all either in the furs or in Blogville. We are just so proud to induct Lexi to the Portrait Hall. Christmas has written a poem for Lexi that he will read and then he has some closing remarks. Christmas.....

A Schnauzer smirk
Four cream colored paws
One thousand cheers
And ooh's and aww's.
There under the spotlight
With her curly gray fur
America's great Toto
The crowd applauded her.
Lexi was more than just a dog
She changed the world right away
Therapy, church, and acting dog
She brought smiles every day.
Lexi taught the world to always smile
To always go the extra mile
Sweet and innocent, Lexi was
In her home, she was quite the buzz.
She did get into trouble too
Jumping on counters
With apples to chew
That Lexi always had something to do!
She made many friends through her pawsome blog
About herself, the pawsome dog
Running for mayor of Blogville as a candy date
That fun little dog had a lot on her plate!
From her very last play, to her very last meal
Lexi's love for the world and for others was real
When you see ruby slippers, two red shiny shoes
Please think of dear Lexi, I'll think of her too.
............
Angel Lexi, even on earth you had your wings. You were an inspiration to all and the time I spent as a candy date running against you was time well spent. I'll never forget visiting you in Tennessee for my world tour (Oreo was with me and I'm sure he feels the same way), discussing pawlitics with you, and learning more and more about life and love from your own experiences recounted on your blog. (Click HERE to visit her blog, now taken over by Angel Lexi's new sister, Lucy)
Until we meet again, dear Lexi, you'll have a special place in my heart.
~Christmas
