1. When did you start your blog and, for anyone who is just seeing it for first time, please provide a description of your site. Would you say your blog focuses more on sharing stories with your readers, or providing a resource for your audience?
My mom Robin started the blog in October of 2014. I was only adopted into my furever home the year after, so that's when it became my blog. For new readers, this blog is about the adventures I have with my 13 year old mom, my journey with positive training, my occasional days as a show dog, and simply my thoughts, opinions, and inspiration about life! My blog is more about sharing stories with my readers than providing resource for my audience.
2. What was your proudest blogging moment of 2016?
When I first became a candy date for Blogville mayor. I ran a 7 month campaign, and even though I didn't win the election, it felt really good when I first became a candy date. I hadn't even been in Blogville four months and I already had the opportunity of a lifetime to influence Blogville.
3. Which of your blog posts was your favorite this year and why? (Please include a link.)
My favorite post was the post I did on the Blogville Summer Dance 2016. I was proud to be the host and I feel like it was one of the main things Blogville remembers about the summer of 2016. It was all around Blogville and I'm glad I got to bring our community together for a summer shindig. Click here to check it out!
Year after year, one goal that we all seem to share is that we want to reach more people. What one tool did you use or action did you take this year that had the most impact on increasing traffic to your blog?
I took a month or so on my blog to donate $3 to a local Dachshund rescue every time a new follower joined the community of Paw Province. It was a grrreat way for me to give back to Dachshunds who aren't as fortunate as me, and it gave others a motivation to keep up with my adventures.
Which of your blog posts got the most traffic this year? (Please include a link.) Have you noticed any themes across your most popular posts?
Unfortunately I have no way to access my most viewed post this year, but I have noticed that whenever I host an event or write a PSA (Public Service Announcement) those posts get the most traffic.
What blog do you find most inspirational and how has it influenced your blog? (Please include a link.)
Every single citizen of Blogville has a blog that has inspired me one way or another. However, if I had to pick one I'd say it's Lexi The Schnauzer, a blog about a Schnauzer named Lexi. She was a candy date for mayor, but she sadly passed away in September of 2016. Her life lessons always inspired me to go above and beyond for the ones I love and she taught me to live life to the fullest. Click here to visit Angel Lexi's blog!
What is one thing your readers don’t know about you or your pets that would surprise them?
I'd prefer not to share as it would change a lot.
What is something you’ve learned this year that could help other bloggers?
It's not always about writing PSA's, writing long posts, jamming a bunch of photos in one post. One sentence and one photo could be what makes the post special. I've also learned that it's not always about posting the big feats, like winning at a dog show or reaching a training milestone. Sometimes going for a walk with a doggy friend, heading to the pet store, or even finding a fallen treat under the fridge can make for great stories. It's not always about perfect pictures either. Camera photos are always pawsome and great quality, but photos from your humans' smartphone could also complete your post.
What would you like to accomplish on your blog in 2017?
I want to grow my base of readers as this little dog has some big things to say! I hope I can inspire people to go out and have fun with their pets. I also want to inspire people to start blogs for their own critters!
Now it’s your turn! You have the attention of the pet blogging community – is there a question you’d like answered, or an aspect of your blog that you’d like input on?
