Interview With The Idaho Pugs

Hello, friends! Chris here!

I had the opportunity to do an interview with Mr. Bailey, Hazel, and Mabel, everyone's favorite Pug Ranch kids. These Idaho pups had some grrreat answers to some grrreat questions...enjoy!

When did you start blogging?

Our first post was published on September 30, 2012

What encouraged you to start a blog?

Mom started reading a few pug blogs. After a while she created an account so we could leave comments. Soon others wanted to know if we had our own blog. It made her realize that it would be fun to blog about our adventures and she started our blog with Angel Greta as the main spokespug.
We were amazed when we realized just how many pet blogs there were out there.

How old are you three Pugs?

Mr Bailey is the oldest - he will be 14 yrs old on December 2nd, Hazel will be 12 in November.
Mabel's birthday is also in November - she will be 2 yrs old.

Where did the peeps adopt the three of you from?

Bailey & Mabel were adopted/purchased from breeders. Hazel was born to a pug pair that Mom's daughter had rescued. Sofia (Hazel's mom) was pregnant when they came to live with the daughter.  Brutus, Hazel's brother, still lives there, but Hazel's mom and dad have both gone on to the Rainbow Bridge

What's your favorite thing about blogging?

Our favorite thing about blogging is the friendships we have made with friends all over the world. We like that we learn from each other, and have lots of fun, but it is the support in good and bad times that really means a lot. Our blog friends understand when some others may not.

Who appears most on the blog...Mabel, Bailey, or Hazel?

When we first started the blog, Angel Greta was the main focus. She was so full of naughty and fun and there was a lot to blog about.
Then when Greta left for the Rainbow Bridge, Bailey & Hazel did a great job keeping the blog going till Mabel arrived. We all get our moments but Mabel appears most often.

Hazel, what's your favorite toy, treat, or thing to do?

I love any toy that I can use as a head rest. I love to be wherever Mom & Dad are - I even have a dog bed in the master bath so I can be comfortable while Mom is getting ready for work or Dad is in the bathtub.  My favorite special treat is ice cream.

Mabel, what's your favorite toy, treat, or thing to do?

My favorite toy is my monkey. I love to chew on his tail.  I get really excited when I know that mom is going to take me to training class. We go every Monday evening. I love any and all treats and I love to chew. My favorite chews are himalayan chews and Whimzee dental chews

Bailey, what's your favorite toy, treat, or thing to do?

I have never been much for toys although I had one toy - my purple man - that I just loved to have with me. I used to watch a lot of TV but since I can no longer get up on the couch (dang those old legs) I don't watch as much. I do love to be outside when the weather is nice and I will go in and out the doggy door all evening long.  My favorite treat has to be scrambled eggs for weekend breakfast. I can hardly wait for the peeps to eat theirs so us pugs can have some.

Why did your peeps choose the Pug breed?

Many, many years ago when mom was just a teenager she helped her sister clean house for a lady that had a pug. Mom just loved that pugs personality and vowed that someday she would have a pug of her own. It wasn't until Mom was older with kids of her own that someone offered an older pug to them and Mom jumped at the chance. That pug was White Chang. White Chang became totally devoted to mom and mom knew then she would always have pugs in her life. Mabel is pug #10!

You three, what do you think about cats?

We have never met a cat in the furs although we have some that pass through our property looking for mice. We do love our kitty furiends that we have met through our blog.

How long do you think you'll continue to blog for?

We will continue to blog as long as it continues to be fun and we have stuff to share with our friends. Sometimes mom gets busy with work and other things and we get behind but we try to post at least three times a week.

What's the main message you want to get across to your readers?

We really don't have a "message" . We just enjoy sharing our lives and accomplishments with our friends and showing our support all around blogville. The friends we have gained through blogging are the best friends we could ever have even though we will never meet most of them in pawson. On occassion we do like to promote ways to be a responsible pet parent.
