As seen on the Blogville POTP blog on Saturday, my kitty bro Cosmo went missing. Let me just start off by saying he is strictly an indoor cat, and he is safe at home right now.
My peeps were gone from morning to the late afternoon on Saturday. When they got back, they noticed that my other two kitty bros, Phineas and Mozzie, were hanging around, but Cosmo was nowhere in sight. This happens a lot...they don't see Cosmo for a day and they find him in some clever hiding place. The linen closet, under a blanket, you name it. You know how cats are. However, for an hour and a half, they searched literally every spot in the house Cosmo could be hiding, and he was nowhere to be found.
My mom Robin designed LOST CAT flyers and put them around the neighborhood. She went from door to door to hand out flyers and ask if anybody saw Cosmo. Nobody did. My peeps say the situation would have been better if they knew Cosmo got out, but they didn't even see the guy leave. Plus, because of the cats and my doggy bro Rocky and I, we never leave the doors open anyway.
Night came, and someone gave the peeps a cat trap with some cat food and tuna inside. Cosmo would be lured inside the trap and it would close during the night, or at least the peeps hoped. The trap was set on the front porch. For an hour, most of the peeps walked around the neighborhood in the dark looking for Cosmo.
Morning came, and Cosmo wasn't in the trap. I was starting to wonder if I would ever see my black and white kitty bro again. We've been really close since day one. My mom has a video somewhere of the day I first arrived at my home. Cosmo was chasing me curiously, and I was having a blast! We would often play together and wrestle together. Those were great memories. But would my kitty bro himself now become just a memory, I thought?
My mom was still asleep when she woke up by the sound of the other peeps talking loudly and excitedly. It turned out Cosmo was back! She went downstairs to see Cosmo run up the stairs. Mozzie sat at the top of the stairs and for some reason hit Cosmo in the face! I guess that's what my bro gets for running away. He had a good meal and a good drink!
Phineas, Cosmo's littermate, was very happy to see Cosmo back. They are brothers, after all. Phineas was crying and mewling during the night because he was so upset. He missed his kitty bro. So, what happened do you ask? Well, it turns out somehow Cosmo must have escaped when nobody saw him. When my mom's brothers opened the side door of the garage so they could get their bikes out and ride around the neighborhood to look for Cosmo (on Saturday) my kitty bro must have sneaked in without anybody seeing! So he was found on Sunday. Note that the peeps checked the basement several times for Cosmo the afternoon before. The next morning, Cosmo was scratching at the door and meowing, and oh, joy! He was finally home!
