Campaigns With Christmas: Love

Howdy, y'all! Christmas here with our second weekly campaign post. Last week we talked about peace, and today's topic is love. In case you missed last Wednesday's post, every week I'll be talking about an impawtent virtue I hope to posses as a candy date.

So, what is love? For people, it might mean getting married and raising a family. It might mean buying gifts for someone special to you and making them a cake for their birthday. It means having a conversation with a friend or taking time to listen to someone who needs someone to listen to them.

For fellow doggies, it could mean licking someone's face. It could mean letting a young child hug you and shout at you happily and try to lug you around like a doll, even though it's really annoying. It might mean doing something goofy to make someone smile when they're feeling down. It means barking out the window to make sure nobody breaks in and harms the people we love. Love is a four legged word, they say.

As a candy date, I do my best to offer as much love as I can to the citizens of Blogville. It means commenting on the blogs of those I've known for a long time and those I just met. It means making sure everyone feels included and making everyone feel loved. It means leaving my condolences to the ones who have passed away in Blogville and honoring their memory. It might even mean hosting a Blogville Summer Dance for all of your friends to attend!

I'm not trying to brag. A good candy date is a humble candy date. I'm just saying love is in impawtent thing, and Blogville is full of so much love. Love isn't a complicated thing. It doesn't always have to be a big thing, like getting married or whisking someone 87 miles away to the place they've always dreamed of going. For dogs, it might mean wagging our tails to make people smile. For people, it might mean helping someone that nobody else wants to help. It means looking past the standards we naturally set in our head and in society to reach out to someone. The little things end up being the big things.

Bow wow, love is a powerful thing! Today I hope you all spread some love, whether your a doggy or a kitty or a person. As a candy date, love is the most impawtent thing to spread around Blogville. If I become mayor one day, I'll make sure Blogville is a place exploding with so much love it's too much to bear!

P.S. If you haven't already, click here to learn more about the Blogville Summer Dance and how you can attend! We have several couples (and a trio of solo dudes) coming so far, and we hope you'll come, too!
