I'm Running For Mayor

Howdy, y'all! It's Christmas here, your favorite Blogville Dachshund. Except for Frankie and Ernie, of course. Anyway, if you've been hanging around Blogville lately, you probably know that Murphy and Stanley's term is coming to an end and a new mayor must be elected. Of course, mayor will be elected in November, which is like 87 weeks away, but everything I'll discuss here will hopefully get you peeps to choose me.

Let's begin, shall we?

I am a bold leader. I have leadership skills (or at least I boss around my mommy and get her to feed me every day) that I would like to share with Blogville.

I will share my opinions on controversial pet topics. One example would be sharing why I think dog breeders are important, even though their are shelter dogs to be rescued.

I support healthy, selective breeding. I come from a breeder, and I am a very healthy pup! Some breeds are bred too much though and develop health issues. German Shepherds and English Bulldogs are good examples, but there are still good breeders of these breeds.

I also support pet rescue. There are many doggies and kitties who don't have homes, something they are very deserving of. I definitely stand for saving homeless pets! I think getting a dog from a rescue or shelter is a very good thing to do.

I support dog shows. I am a show dog myself, so I've got all the digs.

I am willing to share my awesome Dachshund wisdom, awesomeness, and encouragement to anyone who is in need of it. I don't mean to brag, but I'm a Dachshund, so naturally I'm awesome, and if anyone needs a furry friend, I'll be happy to give them some encouragement! Oh, and like I do every day, I'll visit all my Blogville friends' blogs and comment on their posts, letting them know how great they're doing, and I'll go out of my way to make new Blogville friends, too!

I hate two things: tree rats and Vacula. You know what I mean. Seriously, really, nobody likes Vacula, and chasing them tree rats is a requirement to be an awesome Blogville mayor. My campaign slogan is actually "death for Vacula"!

I am young. I am only a couple years old, but I am wise above my years. My mommy Robin thinks I'm getting a little too cocky now, but every good leader must believe in his own abilities, am I right?

I have a festive name. This especially comes in handy during the holidays...well, not for my family. They'll have to try and figure out if someone is mentioning Christmas the handsome little Dachshund, or Christmas as in the holiday.

I have good looks. Take a nice long look, ladies.

I will write a Blogville National Anthem. Actually, my mommy and I already wrote one, but we haven't shared it yet...teehee!

Most of all, my mommy and I are here for Blogville. We believe that Blogville is a place of happiness and security, and my mommy and I will do anything to keep it that way. Blogville is our cyber home, and we couldn't be prouder to be here.

We're not going to force you do to anything (us Blogville peeps have freedom of speech and we are a free country...er, a free Blogville) you don't want to do, but if you like what you hear, please elect me when the time comes! Forget about Donald Duck and the 87 other peeps running for President of the United States.

Though I'll never be able to truly fill the paws of Murphy and Stanley (and I'm not just saying this because their paws are bigger than mine), I hope I can make them proud and make sure Blogville remains a happy, encouraging place!

P.S. because the blog background is the campaign poster I'm posting below, your eyes are probably going crazy with all the blue and red and white!

    1. Toto sounded like a hot diggity fun dog to play with! I'm sure you made a great mayor, Madi, even though I wasn't around for your term and even though you are a kitty cat that I would like to chase. Bow wow, thanks for your support!

  14. OMD, this is sooooo exciting!!!! I thinks you are off to a FABulous start! And I loves loves loves your CampPain poster!! Though, truth be told, I totally ignore the vacula. Yuppers, it's true. Ma has to gets me to move so she can vacuum under me! All her big terriers have been that way...strange. Though, her Old English Sheepdog Panda HATED the vacula!!! So I thinks, if you can gets Ma to stop using it so I can rest in peace, WoooHooo!!!
