My New Snails!

Hi, guys!

Today I got four new snails.

They are Zachrysia Provisoria snails.

Somebody was giving them away on a snail forum I'm a member of, so I couldn't resist.

My first two snails, Clint and Eastwood, were Zachs (that's what I call Zachrysia Provisoria snails for short) but they were super small.

These guys are huge!

Here is a lineup of all four of my new slimer babies.

They were shipped from Florida a couple of days ago, so they had a long ride!

This beautiful girl is Jewel. Her middle name is Emily. She is the largest of the four, and she's super sweet and social. I see lots of fun with this girl in the future.

This pretty girl is Gemma. She's bonded with Jewel. Gemma's middle name is Olivia...isn't that cute? She's a little more shy than her best friend Jewel, but once she warmed up to me, she wouldn't stop crawling all over my hand!

Say hello to Garnet! His middle name is Gene. At first I feared he was dead, for he wouldn't come out of his shell even after being in his tank for ten minutes. I left the room for a minute, and when I returned, he was munching at some fresh cucumber I offered him! This guy will be fun to care for.

Last but certainly not least, this is Topaz, or if you include his middle name, Topaz Hans. When the four snails arrived at my house, he was the first to peek out of his shell and crawl to my hand. He's already very special to me, and so are the other three snails.

You'll be seeing a lot more of Jewel, Gemma, Garnet, and Topaz in the future.

They are very lovely snails.

Not only do I love them already, but so do Drifter, Rocky, my much smaller garden snails, and Sadie, my sweet garden slug.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Those are great photos but mom said she won't look at snails. Me and Stanley are looking at them though and trying to sniff them out.

    1. Hi, Murphy and Stanley! I know your mom doesn't like slimy critters! I'm glad you like them though. I had a lot of fun taking these photos!
