Old-Fashioned Katie

I decided to make a photo of Katie girl more old-fashioned and intense.

I used Picmonkey.

It's a fun, free, easy, yet extreme photo editing website.

No signup!

It's free, but you have to buy some effects.

Trust me though, you still get a lot of choices!

I basically use Picmonkey for everything now, so yeah.

I hope you like it!

Until next time....

Yes, I made my new signature with Picmonkey!

An Extra Long Weekend

Sweet little Phineas decided to take an extra long weekend.

He insists that Friday is the start of the weekend.

I don't blame him.

I could actually agree with him.

Let sleeping cats lie....unless you want to be clawed.

Until next time....

Clint's Story

I refer to my beloved pet snails as my slimer babies.

They are all wonderful little fellas, but I'm especially in love with Clint.

Not only because he is the biggest snail, but I admire that he is very active and social in all situations.

I rescued him from an unknowingly abusive owner (my brother) because he kept Clint in a tiny jar with five other snails, and barely ever cared for them.

Within a couple of days, four of the snails were dead, but we thought all of them were dead at the time.

We were in Florida at the time, and I volunteered to put all of the shells outside.

I sniffed the four smaller snails, and they smelled of decomposed meat, like a dead snail should. It's one of the worst smells in the world!

I put the four dead ones in the grass, and I sniffed the biggest snail, the last snail in the jar. However, he only smelled of soil, like a normal live snail.

At first I thought he may of not started letting of a foul odor yet, but I knew he was alive (obviously) when a sleek, gray, curious little body slipped out of the shell and two curious eyes looked up at me.

The little creature raised his head in the air to take in his surroundings with his eyesight and strong sense of smell.

I was immediately in love with the little guy, and I took him inside to meet the snail I found earlier that day, Eastwood.

I still have little Clint today, and I especially admire him because he was so brave when he was in that situation where he was in that little jar with four other Zachrysia Provinsaria snails, commonly known as Cuban Brown Snails.

No matter how hard the other snails pushed on, they couldn't survive. But Clint was strong, and he got through it all.

Until next time....

Katie Loves Long Walks

Let me just say it, Katie loves long walks.

Sometimes she prefers short walks, but if the weather's nice, she's always in the mood to hit the great outdoors.

She usually is to laid-back to come when called, but she'll come to you if she hears the clanking of her leash or if she sees her harness or leash.

Katie may be a thirteen year old dog, but she stays fit by going on her long walks.

She loves to meet new dogs and whiff new smells.

Fortunately, she's an outdoorsy dog, like me!

Until next time....

Sirk The Versatile Dog

*In honor of Springer Day, a monthly celebration of the majestic English Springer Spaniel celebrated on the 24th of each month, we are sharing this post for the first time and it is to be featured every month for our Springer Day celebration*

Sirk moaned as he sat up in his plush doggy bed. He rolled onto his back and let his owner, Marie, gently stroke the soft streaks of fur on his belly. This was a very vulnerable position for a dog, so everyone could tell that Sirk trusted his owner a lot. Being able to trust and be loyal to someone is one of the many traits of the English Springer Spaniel.

The first thing Sirk did that morning was wait for Marie to prepare his food. He patiently sat there as Marie put the dish on the ground. Marie put a few pieces of Sirk's kibble on her hand. While most dogs would chomp away at the morsels, Sirk was a very gentle dog, true to his breed. He gently lapped the kibble out of Marie's hands.

Marie opened up the front door in order to get the mail from the mailman. The door was still slowly closing, so Sirk ran outside. All he wanted to do was greet the mailman. However, when Marie yelled, "stop" and put her hand up for Sirk to see, he obediently sat down and let the mailman be. True to his breed, Sirk was obedient and wanted to please his owner.

Marie brought the mail into the house and put a leash on Sirk. The two best friends headed out into the front lawn. This particular lead was especially long, so when Marie threw the tennis ball, Sirk would be able to fetch it. That was another thing Sirk was good at. He was always in the mood to play with his friends.

After some tug of war, Marie noticed a loose dog was running on the streets. Marie knew the dog almost immediately. It was her friend down the street's Maltese, Cookie. Cookie ran up to Sirk and Sirk was rather alarmed, but he did his best to be tolerant of the annoying little dog. Marie called her friend, Jasmine, and told her that she had her dog.

After a few minutes, Jasmine finally arrived at Marie's place with her little brother, Henry. Henry wasn't very gentle with Sirk. He basically put his hand in the dog's mouth and was messing around with his eyes and head. He even tried to ride on top of Sirk. However, Sirk could sense that Henry was just a little boy, so he decided to be tolerant of him and let him climb all over him. And if he wasn't too happy about something Henry was doing, he would simply walk away. He would never solve the problem with growling or biting.

The day was long and exciting for Marie and Sirk, so they settled down on the couch. Marie put on her favorite TV show and Sirk snuggled up beside her, all comfortable. After watching some television, Marie got a text from her friend Jasmine. She asked Marie why she got an English Springer Spaniel instead of a Miniature Pinscher, the dog of her dreams.

Marie responded to the text by saying that she chose the English Springer Spaniel because they're so versatile. They're trustworthy and loyal, and often gentle. They will always be obedient and eager to please their owners, and they always have a desire to play and be an active dog. They often are tolerant with other dogs and usually children, and at the end of the day, all they want to do is snuggle up next to you.

Then Marie said, "How could you go wrong with that?"

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed the story, friends!

Until we meet again....

Meet the English Springer Spaniel: An Active, Intelligent, And Affectionate Pet

*This is a post shared every month for Springer Day*

The English Springer Spaniel was the national dog of Paw Province. On average English Springers stand 18-20 inches at the withers and weigh about 50-55 pounds. The English Springer Spaniel is truly a unique and irresistibly beautiful canine. The English Springer comes in black-and-white, liver and white, blue roan, and tri-colored. The English Springer Spaniel has a nice shaped head and long ears. One of their most interesting features is the feathered fur on their chest, belly, legs, and tail. The most intriguing feature of the English Springer Spaniel is the almond-shaped eyes. Once you see an English Springer Spaniel, you just want to interact with him and watch his graceful movement.

The English Springer Spaniel is very friendly, eager to please, quick to learn, and energetic. English Springers make easygoing and affectionate family dog with a very alert nature. They naturally have hunting instincts because they are used as gun dogs, but they won't do any harm to any smaller pets in the family if they are socialized with them early on as puppies. The English Springer also enjoys the company of his owners, other dogs, and the household cat. Because these dogs are so close to their owners, they often have separation anxiety and will probably need to be confined when he is not closely monitored. And make sure you get your dog from a reputable breeder because English Springer Spaniels (and a few other dogs) sometimes inherit Rage Syndrome, a form of aggression.

When it comes to grooming the English Springer Spaniel, brushing out the feathered parts of the coat once a week or so will simply keep your dog in good shape. Training your English Springer Spaniel shouldn't be too hard. The English Springer will swim the English Channel for you. These dogs simply love learning new commands and obeying their owners.

There are two Springer Spaniels, the English and the Welsh. The English Springer Spaniel can be distinguished from the Welsh Springer Spaniel very easily. English Springer Spaniels come in a variety of colors, while the Welsh Springer Spaniel only comes in one color, red, which English Springer Spaniels do not come in. Often English Springer Spaniels have long, curly ears.

While there are two different Springer Spaniel breeds, there are two varieties of the English Springer Spaniel, the benched variety and the field variety. The benched variety has a gorgeous feathered coat, a wide muzzle, often a docked tail, and a thick skull. The benched English Springer Spaniels are usually used in the show ring or as a pet for an active family.

The field variety of the English Springer Spaniel has a lean body with shorter hair than the benched variety and also has shorter ears. They have a moderately sized skull and often a long tail with gentle feathering.

English Springer Spaniels aren't only ideal family pets, but they are higly successful in the show ring. An English Springer Spaniel named CH Felicity's Diamond Jim CD RE (James) not only won the Sporting Group at Westminster in 2007, but he won Best in Show. Another English Springer Spaniel named GCH CH Wynmoor Sweetgrass White Diamonds (Liz) won the Sporting group at Westminster in 2015, though she didn't win Best in Show. Instead, a Beagle named MBIS BISS AM GCH CA GCHEX Tashtin's Lookin' For Trouble (Miss P) was the champion.

The English Springer Spaniel is the ideal companion for those want a dog with a beautiful face and coat and a heart of bravery, intelligence, energy, and affection.

Starry Smokey

Pic Monkey is the best go-to for extreme photo editing.

It's free and fun!

I decided to edit a normal photo of Smokey to something exotic.

I hope you like it!

Barney Needs You

Because today we're focusing on the magnificent English Springer Spaniel, I decided I would take one of the dogs from the English Springer Rescue America and share him with you. He needs a home, after all! This is what the rescue has to say about him....

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 50 lbs
Variety: Bench
Barney is a gentle, sweet soul who is looking for a laid back home and plenty of human companionship. His ideal Forever Family would be moderately active with someone home most of the time. While he doesn’t seem to be inclined to run, fetch or retrieve, he is happy to hop in the car and run errands. He is a great traveler, settling right in and napping away the miles. Retired folks would be great! He likes to take it easy and get plenty of attention.

At home, Barney sleeps either in his crate (with door open) or on his dog bed next to his foster parents. He loves his crate and retreats there during the day. He does not get up on the furniture unless he is invited, but sometimes tasty food out on the counter is too much for him to resist. His favorite spot is right against his people — this boy is a champion cuddler!

In foster care, Barney is living with another calm Springer and getting along fine. He is more interested in people than other dogs, but is happy to have another dog for companionship when the humans have to be away from home. He has bounced around a lot and, as a result, has some separation anxiety when left alone and is a little insecure. While he is generally well-mannered, he may need a quick refresher on housetraining in his new home. He would do well with a doggie door.

Barney - GA

Doesn't he sound like a wonderful dog?

He definitely does!

I'm sorry the photo is very blurry, but that was honestly his best photograph....

It's That Day Again!

Yes, my friends.

Today is the day we celebrate every month in order to celebrate the majestic English Springer Spaniel.

It was the national dog of Paw Province, but I decided not to keep it that way because now we have a mascot, Benson the Bulldog.

However, never the less, the English Springer Spaniel deserves a proper celebration every once and a while, so the holiday is still on, each month, every month!

Now, to start off,  feast your eyes on this!

Cotons & Cats

Yesterday we went to a friends' house for dinner, and they have two adorable pets.

First, there is Timmy, the adorable Coton De Tulear.

Here he is in a very poor quality picture I took of him.

Here he is licking my face.

Then I decided to take advantage of this photo of him blending it with the carpet.

I turned it into an adorable meme.

Holly is an adorable, flat-faced, loud purring cat.

That's all I have for her....she won't sit still!

Until next time......

Schnoodle Fever

Schnoodles are adorable, making Dylan adorable.

Dylan is a precious Schnauzer/Poodle mix in our neighborhood.

He's got cute bushy eyebrows and a lovable face!

Easter Is Out, Cuteness Is In

Sometimes we like a holiday so much we still remain in the holiday spirit.

For example, it's the middle of Summer, and I still have paper snowflakes on my bedroom window.

Another example is Katie.

She obviously enjoys Easter, or else she wouldn't be wearing these rabbit ears.

However, I'm not against her opinion on Easter.

I'm actually encouraging it, because she's the cutest Easter bunny ever.

Cosmo The Cutie

Let's just say it, Cosmo is the cutest thing.

He is a very serious, calm, laid-back cat.

Then, yesterday, I saw this picture, and didn't even know if it was Cosmo.

It had all the features of Cosmo, but he looked very little.

I guess the cat carrier we have is just big.

It is Cosmo, and of course, I think he's adorable.

This is the picture of him in the carrier!

Mozzie Is Photogenic

As the title of this post states, Mozzie is very photogenic.

He may be playful and goofy at times, but he does like to flop down and relax sometimes.

Here a couple of examples of his undeniable cuteness when he takes a lazy day.

I hope you like the pictures!

You Better Get Comfortable! It's A Petsmart Palooza!

This weekend, I went to Petsmart.

I love hanging out with the kitties there.

I enjoy petting the dogs that people bring in.

I sometimes hold the rodents and the reptiles.

Whatever I do there, it's always fun.

You never know what you'll find at Petsmart!

I held a Ball Python. He has a beautiful pattern on his body.

This curious Budgerigar greeted passerby with a friendly chirp.

A Gerbil slept peacefully in her igloo.

Two mice huddled up together for a nap.

I can tell that these Bearded Dragons are best buddies!

It's a Cockatiel, like Muppet!

I was delighted to get my hands on this sweet little rat, who was happiest up on my shoulder.

Indeed was she a curious little rat....

A VERY curious rat....

To the point where she did this adorable pose.

The little rat was in the same habitat as her two sisters. You can see one of them photobombing her on the left side of the igloo....I actually didn't notice that until now! The final rat sister is sleeping on top of the igloo in the first two pictures. This is the rat sister that loves to photobomb.

Somebody brought in their Dachshund/Schnauzer puppies. This one's name is Sam. Isn't he darling?

This sweet face belongs to Gretel.

She looks like a little detective, mustache and all!

Millicent is a goofy youngster with the cutest head-tilt around.

After some fun with the feather wand, Cali Mom decides to tidy up.

Once you get past his aggression and his deadly stare, Angel is an angel.

Midnite is a sweet kitty with a serious expression.

Luna is Midnite's sister. She can be very serious, too.

Mammi loves attention!

Panda and Sherbert are an energetic pair of adorable kittens. Panda sure looks like Phineas!

This guinea pig is a cute little fella.

The final Petsmart cutie is Sebastian the English Bulldog!

Now do you believe that Petsmart is full of surprises? Yep, that's what I thought!

Until next time....
