How I Reduce Cat Allergens In My Home
We have cat allergies in the family, so I try to make sure Cosmo and Phineas are spic and span. I brush both of them for a little while every day. Before we took the kitties home on Monday, somebody at Petsmart put a serium on the boys that reduces allergens. I like to use Petkin's Kitty Wipes every other day to deodorize the boys and reduce dirt and dander on their bodies. We plan to vacuum more to reduce the fur that has fallen to the ground, especially on carpeted floors. I take Zyrtec to help with allergic reactions. I make sure not to touch my eyes or rub my neck after petting the boys. There are so many ways to reduce cat allergens in your home and reduce the chance of having an allergic reactions. Take my advice, the results are amazing and the cats think so, too!
Cosmo Writes a Letter To Friskies
Earlier this afternoon I found Cosmo staring down a piece of paper and a pen. I glanced down at the paper to learn that Cosmo wrote a letter to Friskies. His letter is below.
Dear, Friskies,
It's your friend Cosmo the Tuxedo cat in Georgia. I would like to start off by complimenting you for your delicious cat food and treats. I'm really sorry, I eat Science Diet's dry kibble and Sheba's wet food. But you have no need to worry! I love Friskies when it comes to your lovely treats! Each one is packed with yum. and I have no idea what I do in life without a Friskies party every day! You don't need guests or decorations for a Friskies party. All you need is a hungry kitty and a bag of those delectable Friskies treats!
My brother Phineas and I were adopted at Petsmart a couple of days ago (Monday) and we've had a little bit of trouble adjusting to our new enviorment. Our housefolk include two adults, five children, two dogs, a bird, and of course my awesome brother Phineas, whom I like to call Phin. One of the dogs in the house keeps barking at us and chasing us. He wouldn't try to hurt us, but Phineas and I are still nervous about our new home. I've been less nervous since one of the children held out a Friskies treat. I gobbled it up and I was in love your brand. Friskies, keep the party going!
Sincerely,
Cosmo
Cosmo's penmanship is more formal than I expected it to be. If I ever create a blog for Cosmo, it will be called Cosmo the UnsophistaCATed Tuxedo Cat because my tuxie boy isn't as classy and sophisticated as he may look. I took Cosmo's letter, and he's convinced that I'm mailing it to Friskies. But for now, I'll keep the party going for my beloved Cosmo with Friskies treats.

Meet Our New Cats, Cosmo and Phineas
A couple of days ago I told you guys that we were getting a Tuxedo cat. Well, we went to Petsmart to pick Cosmo up, and we ended up leaving with both Cosmo and his brother Phineas. Cosmo's name was formally Edgar, and Phineas was formally named Boots. I changed Edgar's name and my brothers decided on what we should call Phineas. Okay, guys! Indulge in the cuteness of Cosmo and Phineas!
Cosmo is fond of the litter box.
Litter box, sweet litter box.
Cosmo is a very tranquil feline.
Phineas can be calm at times.
But then he wants to play!
Phineas is a very intelligent cat.
Just look at that face!
I have an account on Catster, and I made a profile for Cosmo. I haven't had time to create a profile for Phineas yet. Oh, and I submitted Cosmo and Phineas on the Daily Kitten, so keep a lookout in case they're featured!

We Interview Boots the Cat About His Life at Petsmart
Yesterday we went to Petsmart just to see some of the adorable animals and interact with them. We met a Shiba Inu, Samoyed, and Siberian Husky there, but something else stole the show that day, or perhaps I should "someone". We met each of the adoptable cats at Petsmart, and one of them, a Tuxedo boy named Boots, definitely stole the show that day, so we've decided to interview him.
Hello, Boots!
What's up?
I just wanted to tell you that I have a website.
Oh, cool!
Yes, it is cool. Okay, I would like to interview you for Paw Province.
What's that?
My website.
Oh, okay, go on!
First off, I would like to ask you what some of your favorite things to do are.
I love eating.
Gee, I'd hope so, you need food to survive.
No, I take the love of eating to another level.
Is that so?
Ask my cagemate, Edgar, he'll tell you. Actually, don't ask him, this is my interview.
What brand of cat food do you eat?
What do you mean?
Which type of cat food do you eat here at Petsmart?
There are only two types: yummy and not-so-yummy. Luckily we're served yummy food.
That is lucky. Have you ever had not-so-yummy food?
Me, Edgar, and my family, who have already found homes, used to eat gross things outside before we were taken care of. Don't ask.
I wasn't going to.
You seem to enjoy ruining my jokes.
Let's move on. Do you play any games with Edgar?
Oh, yeah, we love batting around our toy mice.
What else do you do?
We mock dogs that pass by that have just been groomed. You know, there is a grooming station over there. We saw a Pomeranian with a mohawk last week.
That isn't very nice.
That isn't mean. It's all in a day's work.
Do you enjoy the company of humans?
Oh, do I! I love getting scratched behind the ears and held. It doesn't happen too much though.
Oh.
Edgar always gets the attention. I guess it's because he doesn't have a lot of black on him. Black cats are always underestimated.
Yeah, it's terrible.
Edgar is always being a show-off when humans come around!
I'm surprised you said that with such glee. Aren't you said when you don't get attention?
I used to be. But I'm not anymore, because I've found the perfect best friend for me. Give me a chance. Be my friend. Take me home. Robin, adopt me.
That's right, folks! We're adopting Boots! I haven't really had a cat before...Boots will be picked up tomorrow after lunch. We might change his name to Cosmo or Marvin.

How to Reduce Cat Allergens in Your Home
If somebody in your family is allergic to cats, you probably want to reduce cat allergens in your home. But before I introduce some ways you can do so, you should know what the allergens in your home even are.
You could be allergic to your cat's dander, which are the little pieces of skin that flake off your cat. Second, you just might be allergic to your cat's saliva. Your cat licks their coat and your cat sheds and touches things around your home. Then you come in contact with those places and have a reaction. Fel d 1 is what is in your cat's saliva that gives you a reaction. Fel d 2, Fel d 3, and Fel d 4 are rather uncommon. If you're wondering how you can reduce cat allergens in your home.
Vacuum
A lot of fur building up in your home is on the floor.
Keep your cat out of your bedroom
Your cat may want to snuggle up in bed with you, but it isn't always the best idea when you have allergies.
Brush your cat
You will be surprised at how much better you will feel after brushing your cat occasionally. Getting rid of excess fur will help with the shedding and your cat won't have as much fur to lap at.
Bathe your cat
Bathing your frisky feline doesn't only keep your cat extra clean, but it helps get rid of Fel d 1 on your cat's coat and excess fur. Remember, don't bathe your cat too often! Her skin will become dry. Plus, cats don't need to be bathed that often anyway because they are very clean animals. Be prepared if your cat doesn't enjoy her baths.
There are more ways to reduce allergens in your home. You can check out other websites for more information. Remember, if you have allergies and you want to adopt a hypo-allergenic cat, please keep in mind that no cat is completely non-allergenic. Have a great day!

You Can Change a Pet's Life
Today is Change a Pet's Life Day. And so was yesterday. And I can the same about tomorrow. Every day we should find a way to change a pet's life. Well, today is officially Change a Pet's Life Day, but holidays don't always need to be official. You can change the lives of animals around us each and every day of the year. Oh, so you don't actually know HOW to change a pet's life? Let me show you.
You can volunteer at a shelter.
If you don't have time for that, you can simply head to a shelter just to make tails wag and throats purr with some bonding time.
To increase the happiness rate even higher, you can bring the dogs and cats at the shelter toys, treats, beds, or some other necessity or fun object or food animals enjoy.
Not every fun furry moment happens at the shelter! You can change your very own pet's life at home. It doesn't matter if you're putting your obese pet on a diet or begin taking your dog on daily walks. Big changes and little changes are equally helpful in your pet's life.
Donating to your shelter, ASPCA, or any other organization promoting animals make a big difference in the lives of animals. You can donate ten cents or a billion dollars; it doesn't matter to the dogs and cats when they find loving homes.
There are hundreds of other ways you can change a pet's life. The possibilities are endless! If you have any more ideas, please leave a nice comment with your input!
